First evening of Open Air Cinema with the screening of “Coco ferme” on Thursday, July 6

Our series of Open Air Cinema family film screenings under the stars kicks off this Thursday, July 6, with the most resquested film: “Coco ferme”.

Bring your popcorn, chairs and blankets to Veterans Park to enjoy this great outdoor event. In the event of rain, the film will be shown in the council room at Town Hall.

Coco ferme is the 25th chapter of the Contes pour tous series, part of which was filmed right here in Sutton.  Directed by Sébastien Gagné, this youth comedy tells the story of Max, an almost 12-year-old whose father decides to move to the country, taking his son with him. Max isn’t happy – to say the least – and, to ease the boredom of summer vacation, he comes up with the idea of creating a farm of 500 laying hens with the help of Charles and Alice, a social networking enthusiast.

Ever since she was a child, Georgia Nolan has had only one dream: to become a fireman, just like her father. Unfortunately, in New York City in 1930, women are not allowed to be firemen. But, when the city’s firemen begin to disappear in a series of mysterious fires at Broadway theatres, Georgia sees a golden opportunity. She disguises herself as “Joe,” an awkward young man, and joins the team of improvised firemen in charge of stopping the arsonist. Georgia must preserve her false identity at all costs, especially since her father will be in charge of this high-risk investigation.

A hard-on-his-luck hound Hank (Michael Cera) finds himself in a town full of cats who need a hero to defend them from a ruthless villain’s (Ricky Gervais) evil plot to wipe their village off the map. With help from a reluctant teacher (Samuel L. Jackson) to train him, our underdog must assume the role of town samurai and team up with the villagers to save the day. The only problem… cats hate dogs.
