Mental Health Week: #GetReal about how help

Organized by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) for the past 71 years, Mental Health Week takes place May 2-8, 2022.

This year’s theme is “The Importance of Empathy“. It is based on the idea that people who are suffering need empathy more than solutions or advice. When someone feels seen and heard, they feel understood and supported. Let’s create a space to #GetReal.

Empathy is the capacity we share as human beings to step into each other’s shoes. To understand where they’re coming from and what they’re feeling. To listen hard and refuse to judge. It’s also one way to reduce and resolve conflict.

#GetReal about how to help. Before you weigh in, tune in

The main objective of Mental Health Week is to promote mental health throughout the population of Quebec. The goal is not only to raise awareness, but to promote knowledge and attitudes that support meaningful social change. We aim to dispel harmful myths and misinformation, to improve understanding of mental health and how to care for it.
