New vandalism against a PR vehicle and plantations: that’s enough!

The Town of Sutton denounces two new acts of vandalism committed last night.

A first responders (PR) vehicle rendered unusable

The PR vehicle that was parked near the premises at the corner of Western and Principale streets had its rear windshield completely smashed in, the front windshield and the mirrors smashed.

It was sent for repair and will not be available for two weeks. This gratuitous and malicious act penalizes a service intended to help all our citizens.

Plants ripped out

The new flowerbeds at the petanque court have also been damaged: shrubs have been ripped out. Flower boxes were also vandalized on the street, on Maple bridge.

A growing bill

These repeated acts of vandalism do not only affect the peace and comfort of our beautiful municipality: the taxpayers are all paying the price, which is currently estimated at between $25,000 and $30,000.

Everyone’s vigilance is required

The Town has requested a stronger police presence and has increased the cadets’ presence.

We ask all our citizens to be vigilant and supportive of the collective good: Sutton is a charming and peaceful village, no one wants that to change!
