Call for candidates for the Planning and Sustainable Development Advisory Committee (PSDAC)

Are you interested in urban planning issues and want to get involved in municipal life? The Town of Sutton is looking for citizens who are willing to participate in the work of the PSDAC in order to fill a position currently vacant on the committee.

Role of the Committee

The Planning and Sustainable Development Advisory Committee is mandated by the Municipal Council to guide, orient and support its action in matters of urban planning. It is responsible for studying and issuing recommendations on site planning and architectural integration programs, minor exemptions to the planning by-laws, conditional uses, specific construction, alteration and occupancy projects, comprehensive development plans and all other requests related to land use planning.

Composition of the Committee

The PSDAC is composed of two municipal councillors and five residents of Sutton. It is assisted by the staff of the Urban Planning and Development Department. Councillor Marie-José Auclair and Councillor Alan Pavilanis are the two current councillors appointed to the committee.

The term of office for each citizen member is two (2) years and the term is renewable. Appointment of members shall be made by resolution of Council.

The Committee meets once a month in regular session, on the last Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. (see calendar on the website). It also occasionally meets in special session.

If you are interested, please send us a letter of application outlining your interests, skills, expertise or training in urban planning, architecture, construction, real estate development, landscape architecture, design, engineering, environmental science, forestry, social development or civic participation, which may contribute to the committee’s reflections and work.
