Official Public Consultation on Urban By-Laws on June 25
As required by law, the public consultation meeting on the draft urban by-laws will be held on Thursday, June 25, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sutton School of Art, 79, rue Principale Sud. A presentation of the draft by-laws will be made, followed by a session of questions and discussion with the public.
Following the same rigorous procedure as for the revision of the Urban Plan, the draft by-laws, adopted at the special council meeting on May 27, will be submitted to a formal public consultation meeting on Thursday, June 25.

Open house on the revision of urban by-laws on April 23, 2026
In the same spirit of transparency and collective participation adopted for the revision of the Urban Plan, an open evening was held on April 23 to provide information on the progress of the revision work and to exchange views with residents. Some fifty people turned up to ask questions and make suggestions.

Adoption of draft urban by-laws on May 27, 2026
At a special council meeting on May 27, the Town of Sutton adopted eight draft urban planning bylaws that will be submitted for public consultation.
All adopted project documents were posted online on the Dream Sutton/Urban Plan and By-Laws Revision Process website (in the mauve Documents section), as well as in the May 29 edition of the news . Two printed versions were also made available to the public at the Town Hall reception desk and at the Sutton Municipal and School Library.

Pre-consultation period from May 29 to June 18, 2026
A pre-consultation period which is not required by law, was then opened until June 18 for citizens to make comments and suggestions on the preliminary versions of the regulations.
This pre-consultation is intended solely for people who have read the published draft regulations in the published documents. Its purpose is to enable them to obtain clarifications or make suggestions following their reading, with a view to the official public consultation.

As provided for in the Act respecting land use planning and development (LAU) and announced in today’s public notice, a public consultation session will be held on June 25 on the draft urban planning by-laws adopted on May 27. It will be held at the École d’art de Sutton, 79, rue Principale Sud.
Following the presentation of the draft by-laws, a question period will allow individuals and organizations to express their views publicly.
