Community Better Challenge : Sutton maintains its 2nd place in Quebec!
Good news, thanks to the efforts of the community, Sutton is still ranked 2nd in Quebec, behind Montreal, and 22nd in Canada! You can consult the list of municipalities on the ParticipACTION website.
Since the beginning of the Challenge, on June 1st, citizens and organizations have been working together with the Town to ensure that Sutton is crowned the most active community in Canada. We congratulate all those who are participating in the Challenge and we invite those who have not yet done so to register with the ParticipACTION app or on the ParticipACTION website to record your minutes of physical activity: we need your help to make our community the most active in Canada!
Events that brought people together and added minutes!
Two activities have already been organized by our partners this month, adding up to more than 15,000 minutes of physical activity for the Sutton community:
- On Saturday June 4th, the Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton (PENS) organized its spring trail clean-up: 13,650 minutes of physical activity later, participants had cleaned the ditches and installed the posts for the season. Head out to the trails to see for yourself!
- On Tuesday, June 7, the CIUSSS de l’Estrie – CHUS organized the Walk and Exercise at YOUR rhythm event. A total of 17 people gathered at Goyette Hill Park to move and do guided exercises together, adding a total of 1,818 minutes of physical activity for Sutton!
Thank you for this beautiful participation!
More activities to come in June!
- Tomorrow morning, Saturday June 11th, big gathering at Goyette-Hill Park for the Défi Sutton Challenge organized by the Coop Gym Santé : see the news. More information on https://coopgymsantesutton.com/en/sutton-challenge/

Goals of the Community Better Challenge
In addition to inviting Canadians to get moving and record their physical activity minutes, the Community Better Challenge will award a $100,000 Grand Prize to the community that gathers the most participants and accumulates the most active minutes in Canada. A $15,000 prize is also awarded across Quebec. The awards are for local physical activity projects.
