Non-Profit Organizations Recognition and Support Policy
As part of the NPO Recognition and Support Policy Review, the Town of Sutton aims to distribute the various services to organizations in an equitable manner, taking into account their recognition status and the municipal resources available.
To apply for recognition, all the information is available online on the website.
SUPPORT TYPES
There are 4 types of services and support available to recognized organizations:
Financial support
Depending on their recognition category, organizations can obtain financial support for operations, for a project and they can also submit a request to the Mayor or a Council Member for funding from their discretionary budget.

Rentals’ support
Depending on their recognition category, organizations may have free access to various Town-owned indoor or outdoor spaces. Reservation rates are specified in the municipal fees By-Law.
Professional support
Depending on their recognition category, the Recreation, Community Life and Culture department can provide consulting and support services to help organizations get their projects started.
All recognized organizations will be invited annually to a training workshop to support the management and/or development of their NPO, according to the needs surveyed.
All recognized organizations will be invited to the Town's annual Volunteer Recognition Evening.
Technical support
All recognized organizations have access to BFL Canada's preferential rate for their insurance coverage. This partnership is possible due to an agreement between the Union des municipalités du Québec (UMQ) and BFL Canada.
All recognized organizations have free access to reservation and equipment delivery for their public events.
Depending on their recognition category, organizations benefit from free posting of their activities, events and other services on the Tartre Park billboard, on community bulletin boards and in the Town programming. Full details will be sent to NPOs with confirmation of their recognition status.
