The Quebec government has renewed the previous government action plan for a further year, the Government Action Plan to Foster Economic Inclusion and Social Participation 2017-2023 (PAGIEPS), to allow time for this public consultation and to prepare the measures for the next plan. This renewal of PAGIEPS means major investments in the social development of Quebec’s regions, notably through the Alliances pour la solidarité program (in French only), which has received an investment of $26.1 million.

The aim of this program is to hand over large sums of money to the regions so that they can act autonomously on the social issues they consider to be priorities.
