The returning officer, Me Jonathan Fortin, proceeded on Tuesday, October 19th to the swearing in of the two councillors, Lynda Graham and Carole Lebel, who had been elected by acclamation on October 1st, at the closing of the candidacies. Indeed, being the only candidates in their respective districts 5 and 4, they were automatically elected and had to be sworn in within 30 days in accordance with the Act respecting elections and referendums in municipalities.

The Town of Sutton and the entire administration would like to warmly congratulate Mrs. Graham and Mrs. Lebel for their election to the municipal council.

Here is the oath the councillors took towards the population of Sutton: “I declare under oath that I will fulfill the duties of the office of councillor with honesty and justice, in accordance with the law and with the Code of Ethics and Conduct of the Elected Municipal Officers of the Town of Sutton and undertake to observe the rules of that Code applicable to me after my term has ended.”
