The Town of Sutton launches an interactive exhibition and consultation for citizens on the future of the village core

–PRESS RELEASE –

Sutton, October 14, 2022—The Town of Sutton invites its citizens to participate in the collective reflection on the future of their village core: an interactive exhibition will be open to the public as of Thursday, October 20th where two public meetings will be held simultaneously the following week to take the pulse of the population.

Under the title “Village Core: Establishing a Comprehensive Plan”, the Town of Sutton wishes to present to the public every step of the process that has been undertaken in the past several months. The presentation will be done in order to gather all the available and relevant information that will allow the public to give informed opinions on the revitalization of the sites in question in the heart of the village: Principale Street and Maple Street, the John-Sleeth Community and Cultural Centre, the Sutton Museum of Communications and History and the former Filtex factory site.

Since the end of 2021, the Town has analyzed all available reports on these sites as well as gathered valuable information from local experts and interest groups through brainstorming sessions. The public is now invited to consult the content and participate in public meetings to have the process explained in person. Citizens will be able to share their comments and suggestions directly on site, or online via the new website of “Dream Sutton” that will be available online as of October 20th.

The Town of Sutton launches its new Web platform dedicated exclusively to municipal projects that invite citizen participation: dream sutton is a commitment by the Municipality to present every step taken in the realization of projects that concern the entire population.

Starting October 20th, Dream Sutton will be the meeting point between the municipal team and the citizens who will be invited to participate in the evolution of the various projects in progress. The short-term rental and the comprehensive plan of the village core are the two projects currently presented to the population, but others are to come very soon, such as the participative budget, the revision of the urban plan and the question around the supply of our drinking water.
