Discover the musical line-up for the Fête nationale du Québec 2024 in Sutton.

The Corporation de développement économique de Sutton (CDES), the Recreation, Community Life and Culture team and the Sutton Encore organization are working together to offer you a festive day that will  delightyour taste buds, your ears and your heart.

We’re proud to reveal the musical program for the Fête nationale du Québec in Sutton, our big summer gathering on Monday, June 24. For the 3rd year in a row, we’ve commissioned Sutton Encore and its director, Vanessa Lauzon, to create a rhythmic evening of three concerts featuring traditional, country and folk francophone music, to get people of all ages up and dancing.

Opening act: Willy LeMaistre and Tristan Henderson

To kick off the evening, Willy LeMaistre and Tristan Henderson will warm up the crowd with their traditional Québécois-inspired music. Their instruments include electric and acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo and Irish flute. Over the years, they have performed mainly on local stages, including the Auberge Sutton Brouërie and the Festival de violon traditionnel de Sutton.

Part Two: Alice Tougas

The second performance of the evening will be presented by ALICE, the solo project of Alice Tougas, former member of the group Canailles, with whom she played accordion from 2010 to 2019. For the past few years, Tougas has been turning her unsuccessful love affairs into songs with the help of her Wurlitzer. Drawing on country, soul and classic rock, she creates groovy, uplifting compositions whose warm tones make you want to tap your feet.

Headliner: Thierry Larose

The final show features the emerging artist Thierry Larose, a singer-songwriter whose music is composite, sensitive and elastic, propelled by rock impulses. Named Revelation of the Year and Album of the Year (Rock) at the ADISQ Gala, Larose has made two albums so far.

The full official program of Fête nationale will be revealed in early June: stay tuned!

Change of venue for this year’s event

This year, due to major construction work on Western Street, it will not be possible to hold the festivities in Goyette-Hill Park. So, exceptionally, the Fête nationale du Québec in Sutton will take place on the grounds of the former Filtex’s site at 14 Dépôt street! More information on the details of the event will be revealed in June.

We look forward to seeing you there!
