Do you know the RénoRégion Program?

The Brome-Missisquoi MRC would like to inform you about the RénoRégion Program (RRP). The purpose of the RénoRégion Program (RRP) is to provide financial assistance to low- and moderate-income owner-occupants for work to correct major defects in their home.

MRC Brome-Missisquoi has a budget of $280,000 to allocate for the 2023–2024 and 2024-2025 RénoRégion Program.

Financial assistance may cover up to 95% of the approved cost of the eligible work, up to a maximum of $20,000 or $25,000, depending on income.

Eligibility criteria

Consult the following eligibility criteria to see if you qualify:

  • Your building (excluding the land) is valued at $150,000 or less (standardized value) on your 2022 municipal tax account.
  • You are the owner and occupant of a single family home (or duplex).
  • Your home requires at least $3,500 of work to correct one or more major defects (exterior walls, openings, projections, roof, structure, electricity, plumbing, heating, thermal insulation, etc.). Any work completed before a certificate of eligibility is issued is not eligible for the program.
  • You have not received assistance from the RénoRégion program in the past five years.
  • You have not received assistance from the Rénovation Québec program (Farnham only) in the past 5 years.
  • Your family income is low (click here to consult the chart on gross income limits).
  • Any other eligibility criteria established by the Société d’habitation du Québec (SHQ).

The budget is for a 2-year period, until March 31, 2025. The fiscal year for this program is April 1 to March 31. For applications processed before March 31, 2024, the reference year for building and income evaluation is 2022. For applications processed on or after April 1, the reference year will be 2023.
