Free shows for families as part of the Early Childhood Week
On the occasion of the Early Childhood Week, which takes place from November 14 to 20, 2022, the towns that collaborated in the cultural project J’inviterai l’enfance are offering the residents of the Brome-Missisquoi MRC the chance to attend free shows for children aged 0 to 5.
Take advantage of this opportunity to introduce your young children to the performing arts! You can attend one or more shows offered on Saturday November 19 and Sunday November 20 in the towns of Bromont, Cowansville, Dunham and Sutton. Information about these free performances is listed below.
Mission accomplished for J’inviterai l’enfance and a digital collection as a gift
Initiated by the Town of Sutton in 2019 and supported by the Town of Cowansville, the cultural project J’inviterai l’enfance, aimed for young children, has aroused the interest of five other municipalities that participated: Dunham, Lac-Brome, Farnham, Saint-Ignace-de-Stanbridge and Bromont. It was a first in Quebec, and even in Canada, to see municipalities join forces in order to jointly provide tools and sensitize the cultural and early childhood milieus to the importance of cultural awareness among children aged 0 to 5!
The three components of this major project have made it possible to support those who work with young children, as well as artists and distributors, so that they dare to offer cultural activities for this particular clientele. J’inviterai l’enfance ended in October 2022 with the development and digital publication of a collection of best practices and cultural initiatives for young children, concentrated on the jinviterailenfance.ca web page. Artists and early childhood educators can access audio and video clips (in French) that provide concrete examples of cultural projects carried out under the program. You can also visit the Facebook page of J’inviterai l’enfance, which traces the beautiful adventure of this unique project.
INFORMATION ON THE FREE SHOWS
The show “Marguerite” (in French)
Offered by Théâtre Bouches Décousues
For all public
“When I was a little one
When I was a little one…”
So begins Marguerite, by a chorus that tells the story of life, starting from before to after, when Marguerite was still a tiny bud, a tiny promise of a little girl. Seeds of yesterday, seeds of poems, chiseled words, old lullabies. The paintings sing the apple to the stars. The accordion takes itself for the sea. In the moonlight, the little petals sparkle… A little, a lot, passionately. And on the other side of the window, Marguerite smiles.

The show is presented in the form of a seven-step journey, during which voice, cello and tar are combined with the sounds of trees for the pleasure of the senses.
Take the time to discover in music the different faces of trees. Moss, bark, branches and leaves rustle and crunch under the fingers.
The song of the wind through the branches resounds with the ancient melodies of the tree of life.
The fruits shake and lead us into the joyous harvest festival.
The roots of the trees reveal the hiding place of funny little characters.
