Installation of address posts: a question of security above all

In collaboration with the public security service and the urban planning and development service, a company mandated by the Town of Sutton will proceed, starting August 23rd, with the distribution and installation of missing address posts on our territory. The operation will last several weeks.

These beacons, provided by the Town, display the civic number of each residence and are installed at the roadside, at the entrance to the property. They make it easier for emergency services – firefighters, first responders, paramedics, police – to locate homes, thereby increasing the speed of their response and the safety of people in emergency.

Properties that already have a municipal address post should check its condition: if your beacon is damaged or missing, you should contact the Public Safety Department, preferably by e-mail at [email protected] or, if not, leave a message by calling the Town at 450-538-2290. The Town’s contracted company will check the beacon and replace it if necessary.

It is also essential that your address post be kept clear of branches and snow at all times and in all seasons to ensure that it will be available for use in the event of an intervention.

Thank you for your cooperation!
