March 11: National Day of Remembrance for the Victims of COVID-19

On Thursday, March 11, all Quebecers are invited to pay tribute to the victims of COVID-19, as well as their families and loved ones. The Government of Quebec will be holding various ceremonies in the National Capital while municipalities across the province will join in this commemoration. Flags will be hung at half mast for the whole day.

At 1 p.m. sharp, a one-minute silence will be observed in front of the Town Hall in the presence of Mayor Michel Lafrance and several councillors.

At 1:02 p.m., a volley of ringing bells from Church of Saint André, Grace Church, , Olivet Baptist Church and the former United Church (now the Arts Plus Gallery) will be heard throughout the village. Note that Church of Saint-André will open at 9 a.m. for a commemorative mass and will stay open until 11 a.m. for anyone wishing to meditate or light lanterns.
