Public notice – Updated on June 9, 2023 – Total ban of watering – Mountain Sector

Since we are encountering some difficulties with the supply of water for our network, the Town of Sutton is issuing a total ban on watering as of June 6, 2023, in the Mountain Sector, for all properties serviced by the aqueduct network, and this until further notice.

In accordance with article 21 of By-Law Number 217, it is forbidden to water the lawns. The use of water is also forbidden for exterior washing (cars, exterior walls, windows, etc.), including the filling of pools.

The watering of flowers, gardens and shrubs is authorized as long as it’s done manually, without a hose. Non-compliance with the ban on watering is an offence and the corresponding fine is from $100 to $300 for the first offence.

For the citizens who have installed sod in the last week, we ask that you contact us, so that we can inform you of certain procedures to follow.

The situation will be evaluated on a daily basis by the people responsible for the network and the population will be advised once operating conditions of the network are back to normal.

For more information, please contact the Public Works and Fixed Assets Department at 450-
538-2290.

The Town of Sutton thanks the population for its understanding and cooperation considering the inconveniences that this situation may cause.
