This June, let’s make Sutton the most active community in Canada!

The Town of Sutton is proud to announce that it will be participating in the ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge Let’s Community Better, together, from June 1st to June 30th, with the goal of getting crowned Canada’s Most Active Community.

In addition to inviting Canadians to get moving and record their physical activity minutes, the Community Better Challenge will award a $100,000 Grand Prize to the community that gathers the most participants and accumulates the most active minutes in Canada. A $15,000 prize is also awarded across Quebec. The awards are for local physical activity projects.

Would you like to help Sutton win?

Last year, with the participation of only a few motivated citizens and community organizations, Sutton managed to reach 6th place in Quebec and 129th in all of Canada! Imagine what we can do if we all pitch in this year: we can win!

We therefore call upon all Sutton residents, as well as all Sutton organizations that can propose activities to get moving, to participate in this beautiful Community Better Challenge. It’s simple and effective: during the whole month of June, you count all your minutes of physical activity by recording them in your account.

Create your account today!

Before June 1st, you must create your account. There are two ways to register:

On the ParticipACTION Web site: click on Sign Up Now, then on Track Personal Minutes.
Via the free ParticipACTION app to download on your cell phone.

Make it count!

Any activity that gets you moving is valid for the Community Better Challenge: taking a walk, gardening, walking to the grocery store, vacuuming, walking your dog, running, dancing, swimming… make it count! After each activity, you simply record your minutes in the app or on the website and that’s it!

Enthusiastic partners

A committee with contagious enthusiasm was formed in the spring to make Sutton’s participation in the Community Better Challenge a concerted effort with the objective of finishing 1st in Canada, nothing less! The Sutton Recreation, Community Life and Culture Department, the Coop Gym Santé Sutton, the Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton, the Sutton School, the Corporation de développement économique de Sutton, the Musée des communications et d’histoire de Sutton, the CIUSSS de l’Estrie – CHUS have all combined their ideas to propose projects that will accumulate precious minutes of physical activity in June.

Any other organization in Sutton is welcome to join the initiative. We will publish your info and photos! Contact us at [email protected].
