Western Street reconstruction site – Work Info as of September 13, 2024

The Public Works and Fixed Assets Department would like to inform you of the work in progress scheduled for the upcoming week of September 16.

In the southern parking lot of Goyette Hill Park: only two parking spaces will be available for people with reduced mobility.

In the northern parking lot of Goyette Hill Park: parking will be reserved until September 20 for Western Street residents, whose driveways will be temporarily inaccessible (see phase 4 info below).

Park users can continue to enter the park via the bike path.
The use of alternative parking is mandatory.

Phase 4:

  • Sidewalk construction complete!
  • Construction of concrete curbs
  • Concrete poured to connect driveways
  • Construction of crossing strips for pedestrian protection
    • As work progresses, driveways will be inaccessible for a few days to allow the concrete to dry.
    • Residents will receive a notice in the form of a door hanger indicating the date by which their car must be moved.
    • The north parking lot will be reserved for Western Street residents affected by the work.
  • Gravelling and final grading of Western Street

Restriction: Local traffic only on Western Street. Detour via Pleasant St. (Route 215), Academy St., Principale Nord St., Woodard Rd. and Lefebvre Rd.

Work may be modified or cancelled due to operational constraints or weather conditions.
