Day camp and aquatic activities: important information!

The Recreation, Community Life and Culture Department would like to share important information regarding the upcoming aquatic and day camp registrations for the 2024 season.

Online registration

As last year, registrations will be made online via the ACLoisirs platform.

Important !

If you registered yourself or a family member for an aquatic activity or day camp in 2023, you must use the same account to register for an activity in 2024.

If you are not registered, it is essential to create your account on the platform at least 72 hours before registration opens. Your account will be approved within 72 working hours of its creation.

If necessary, consult the procedure to access your existing account or create a new one.

Account creation assistance evening

If you need help creating an account or accessing your account from last year, we’ll be available to help from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., on Tuesday, April 9 at the Sutton Municipal and School Library, located at the Sutton School.

If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].

New: online payment now available!

No need to come in person this year! Many of you have been asking for it: online payment is now available to pay for your activities at the Town of Sutton. Whether for aquatic activities or day camp, you can pay your bill with a credit card online at the time of registration, in full or in 3 pre-authorized payments.

However, you can still pay in person at the reception desk. You must have your bill in hand and pay by cash or check.

Impact of roadwork on Western Street on users of Goyette-Hill Park

Reconstruction work on the northern section of Western Street (between Principale Street North and Route 215) will begin on April 29 and last until October 18, 2024. During this period, the number of parking spaces at Goyette-Hill Park will be considerably reduced, or even completely removed at certain times, and the remaining spaces will be reserved exclusively for people with reduced mobility, who are encouraged to carpool if possible. Alternative parking will be offered and clearly identified by signage. Access to the park will still be possible, on foot or by bike, via the cycle path.

Due to the roadworks, the day camp will not be held at Goyette-Hill Park this year. Alternative options are being considered, and the day camp location will be announced shortly.

Aquatic activities are maintained at the park, and regular communications will be provided to registered participants as work progresses. They will be informed of alternative parking options.

A public information session on the upcoming construction site will be held at 6:30 p.m. on March 26. At the end of the information session, attendees will be able to ask questions directly at the two information booths set up by the Public Works and Fixed Assets Department and the Recreation, Community Life and Culture Department.

Day camp registration dates

Registration opens on Wednesday, April 17, at 1:30 p.m., for residents and homeowners. Non-residents can register from Wednesday, April 24, at 1:30 p.m.

Click here to consult the online registration procedure.

Registration will be open to children aged 4 who have completed one year of kindergarten. As always, we welcome children up to the age of 12.

Day camp schedule

For now, the Recreation, Community Life and Culture Department is maintaining the 2023 schedule for the day camp: Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the option of registering your child for daycare from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Tous les enfants inscrits auront alors accès à cette journée supplémentaire, sans frais additionnels. If the day camp team is fully staffed by the June 25 opening, Friday will be added to the schedule for both camp and daycare. All registered children will then have access to this extra day, at no additional cost.

The Town is continuing its recruitment efforts in order to offer the best possible service to as many people as possible. Don’t hesitate to share our job offers with your network!

Camp capacity is set at 30 places per week at the moment. Priority is given to residents and homeowners.

Support program for children with special needs, for the municipal day camp

The support program is available to help children with special needs so they can be included in the regular Municipal Day Camp program. Priority is given to resident children with special needs who require integration support.

If you think you might need this service, please contact us at [email protected]  before April 10, 2024. We will contact you to assess your child’s needs.

Registration dates for aquatic activities

Registration opens on Wednesday, May 1, at 1:30 p.m. for residents and homeowners. Non-residents can register from Wednesday, May 8, at 1:30 p.m.

Schedule for aquatic activities

Swimming lessons for children will be offered in the mornings. There will be preschool, parent-child and swimmer classes for children up to age 12. The intensive course option, which allows participants to complete a level in 2 weeks, at a rate of 4 lessons per week, will also be back this year!

Aquatic activities for adults will be offered in the morning and the evening. Several aquafitness, aquajogging and adult swimming improvement classes will also be offered!
