PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given by the undersigned that a public meeting required under sections 53 et seq. of the Act respecting land use planning and development, RLRQ, c. A-19.1 (the “Act”) will be held on December 13, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. in the Arthur-Fauteux Room of the Brome-Missisquoi MRC administrative center, located at 749, rue Principale in Cowansville, for draft by-law 09-1123 amending the revised land use and development plan, second replacement.

The purpose of this draft by-law is to modify the land use and development plan in that the “Urbanization – Regional Industrial” allocation has been present in the land use and development plan since 2008, and it is necessary to modify it to allow the realization of an affordable housing construction project in Cowansville. Among other things, the accompanying document indicates that the Town of Cowansville will have to amend its urban plan in order to modify the boundaries of the major land uses so that they correspond to the new boundaries set out in By-law 09-1123, if applicable.

During the public meeting, the commission will explain the proposed amendment and, where applicable, its effects on municipal plans and by-laws or schemas. It hears persons and organizations wishing to express their views.

A copy of the documents referred to in sections 49 and 53.11.4 of the Act and a summary thereof may be consulted at the office of the MRC and, where applicable, at that of each partner organization.
