National Drowning Prevention Week (NDPW)

The year 2018 marks the 25th anniversary of the National Drowning Prevention Week (NDPW). For this occasion, the Town of Sutton, proud ambassador of this awareness campaign, invites you to the pool at the Goyette-Hill park for more information on the safe behaviors to adopt when participating in boating or aquatic activities. It’s not to be missed from July 15th to July 21st, 2018!

Outdoor movie

Given the rain on Thursday night, the outdoor movie has been rescheduled for Friday, July 6 at 8:45 pm at Veterans Park. The movie Peter Rabbit will be presented in English with French subtitles.

End of the heat wave

Given the end of the heat wave announced in recent days, please note as of tomorrow, Friday, July 6, the opening hours of the pool will be the hours following the usual schedule. Thus, lengths swimming will apply from 11:30 a.m. to 13:00 p.m. and the baths for adults from 18:30 to 19:30 are back.

Ride de Filles motocycle ride on July 14, 2018

The Town of Sutton wishes to inform its population about the motorcycle ride “Ride de Filles”  which will pass on July 14th in Sutton. This is a convoy of 225 women motorcyclist who is expected during this ride. As a result, it is to be expected that there will be a lot traffic and an increase in noise level in the village core.

The “Ride de Filles, 10th edition” is a fundraising activity to contribute to the research, education, awareness and support of people with breast cancer and their loved ones. All money raised will be donated to the Fondation du cancer du sein du Québec.

The organizers of the event invite citizens to come and encourage and show their support during this spectacular ride.

The Town also invites you to plan your trips in advance for this day.


Intergenerational pilot project

You want to share your passion!
You love children!

We have what you need!!!

The Town of Sutton is looking for passionate people for an intergenerational mentoring/pairing pilot project (seniors – children). You can volunteer to share your passion in a safe environment and will be accompanied by day camp staff.

Frequency: 1 time per week (variable according to your availability)
Duration of activities: 30 minutes to 1 hour
Location: Goyette Hill Park, Sutton School or Community Hall
Children: 5 to 12 years old (choose your favorite age group)
Group of 6 to 12 children.

You only need to have some availability during the week to animate initiation activities such as tennis, knitting, hiking, martial arts, chess, etc.. If you have another activity to propose, do not hesitate!

Reminder – XMAN Race on June 9th

The Town of Sutton wishes to inform its population of the X-MAN Race event on June 9th at Mont Sutton. Nearly 3,200 participants are expected for this event and they will be running in the municipal parking lots in the village. As a result, it is to be expected that there will be a lot of traffic in the village core and that the parking lot will be full.

Please plan your trip in advance and respect the flagmen and traffics directions.

Free activities at the Sutton School gymnasium for the family

Saturday, March 24, 10:30 a.m. to noon Basketball

Looking for something to do this Saturday? Come and move with you children! The Town will be offering free gym activities for the whole family at the Sutton school gymnasium for the next 2 Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Note that children aged from 7 years old and under must be accompanied by a person aged 14 and over.
